Infonyte DB 3.3 available: Infonyte DB 3.3 is ready and available for download. It comes now with a new XSLT processor which dynamically compiles XSLT stylesheets in Java Bytecode. Infonyte DB 3.2 available: Infonyte DB 3.2 is ready and available for download. It provides new search and indexing features allowing for a flexible and very fast similarity search, and more flexible wildcard pattern searches. Overall performance could be improved once more with new algebraic optimizations and improved evaluation strategies for supporting very efficient early result delivery. Infonyte on European Banking & Insurance Fair 2004 in Frankfurt: Infonyte presents its products and solutions for the financial and insurance industry on the European Banking & Insurance Fair EBIF from October 26-28, 2004 in Frankfurt. You meet our team in Hall 3 at the ground floor at booth 3.OH35, a common booth of Ropardo AG, Comline AG, and Systrade GmbH. At the desks of Systrade GmbH, a new solution addressing the financial reporting will be presented for the first time.

Infonyte DB 3.1.1 available: Infonyte DB 3.1.1 is now ready and available for download. It is the first version with build-in support for Infonyte's power tools providing XSLT extension functions for scalable XPath and XSLT processing. In addition, the new release contains performance improvements for XPath and XSLT processing and a number of maintenance fixes. Infonyte Power Tools available: The Infonyte Power Tools provide a substantial extension library for scalable processing of XPath and XSLT within Infonyte DB. The Power Tools contain extension functions for node set operations (difference, distinct, intersection, etc.), various sorting functions, extended string comparison and conversion operations, and functions for the evaluation of regular expressions. In addition, the Power Tools come with a complete bulk algebra providing complex query operators (select, count, union, intersection, difference etc.) for PDOM collections. [more ...]

Infonyte presents Webservice/.NET Technology Preview: The Infonyte Connectivity Technology Preview is a client/server solution, which provides Web service based connectivity to Infonyte DB's XML processing and storage capabilities for the Microsoft® .NET framework. Infonyte licenses XQuery technology from Fraunhofer: Infonyte has licensed one of the world leading XQuery processors developed by the researches at Fraunhofer IPSI. The IPSI XQuery engine ( IPSI-XQ) is a prototype of an XQuery engine. It is implemented "by the book", that means it is implemented as faithfully as possible along the current W3C working drafts. IPSI-XQ is implemented completely in Java and will serve as a base for Infonyte's own XQuery implementation. It will be integrated in future versions of Infonyte's XML-product line Infonyte-DB.

CeBIT 2003: Infonyte presents the latest version of Infonyte-DB 3.0 on CeBIT 2003 (March 12-19 2003, Hall 11, Booth A24) as partner on the Fraunhofer booth. The new version contains new modules for document collections, user-defined indexing as well as the brand new XML workbench as an interactive development environment for working with large XML documents.

A highlight will be a preview version of the upcoming Infonyte-Reader. The Infonyte-Reader is a configurable XML browser allowing the creation of XML-based information products like product catalogs, dictionaries, and electronic manuals in a radically simplified fashion. [more ...(in German)]

XML Straight Through Processing for the E-Finance Lab: Infonyte presents to the members of the E-Fincance Lab, a technology prototpye for the transformation and processing of voluminous finance messages in the SWIFT format with XML technology. It shows the huge potential of XML technologies for realizing straight through processing architectures with the upcoming ISO-15022 standard.

The E-Finance Lab is an industry-academic partnership between Frankfurt and Darmstadt Universities and partners Accenture, Deutsche Bank, Microsoft, Postbank, Siemens, and T-Systems. Goal of the E-Finance Lab is to jointly develop scientific yet managerial methods for rearranging the business processes of the financial service industry.

BTW 2003: Database Systems for Business, Technology and Web: Infonyte presents a talk on scalable XML processing with Infonyte-DB on the 10th Conference on Database Systems for Business, Technology and Web (BTW). The full paper in German can found here.

The conference BTW is bi-annually organized since 1985 by Databases and Information Systems section of the German Informatics Society (GI).

Infonyte at XML 2002 Conference & Exposition: Fraunhofer IPSI and Infonyte present at the XML Conference & Exposition, held from December 8-13 in the Baltimore Convention Center, their latest prototpye of the upcoming W3C query standard, IPSI-XQ. A presentation "XQuery by the Book - an Implementation Based on Rigid Formal Semantics" shows IPSI-XQ's realization of the abstract XQuery processing model in an open and modular way to arrive at a fully conformant, type safe implementation. The talk describes how the formal specification can be deployed for type analysis and query optimization, and discusses the pros and cons of the approach. [more ...]

Workshop: XML and Content Management: Together with its open-house event, the Fraunhofer IPSI organizes a workshop covering the topics XML and content management. XML has become the technology of choice for the creation, management, and publishing of content. Infonyte shows in a presentation for which parts of large publication processes XML-technology is superior compared to traditional solutions. Infonyte FreeDB Demo available: The FreeDB collection is a community maintained compilation of CD information, like artist, CD-title, and tracklist, comprising over 500.000 CDs from a number of genre categories. Infonyte's FreeDB Demo demonstrates how to build highly performant web-applications operating on large XML data volumes based on Infonyte-DB. Infonyte joins World Wide Web Consortium (W3C): Infonyte GmbH joins the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) with effect from January 2002. Infonyte is actively involved in the XML Query working group that standardizes with XQuery the upcoming standard for accessing and querying XML documents.
